First Aid Day at the DREAM shopping center

19.05.2025

Last Saturday, an open first aid workshop was held at the DREAM shopping centre on the initiative of the Association of First Aid and Tactical Medicine Operators and Instructors.

Throughout the day, visitors to the shopping centre had the opportunity to learn how to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, stop bleeding, monitor the victim’s breathing and immediately put their new skills into practice, free of charge. Instructors from the Ukrainian First Aid Movement demonstrated and explained first aid algorithms to anyone interested, practised emergency scenarios with adults and children, taught them how to use tourniquets, bandages and automatic external defibrillators, and how to take care of their own safety.

Three first aid stations were set up in the Hollywood atrium, where every visitor could learn the knowledge and skills necessary to save a life. Specifically, at the ‘STOP Blood’ station, UFAM instructors taught how to apply bandages, perform tamponade, and apply a tourniquet. At the ‘Breathing Control’ station, they taught how to restore airway patency and provide assistance in case of airway obstruction. At the ‘Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation’ station, they taught how to perform chest compressions, artificial lung ventilation, and use an automatic external defibrillator.

Thanks to the open first aid workshop, visitors to the DREAM shopping centre refreshed their knowledge and became convinced of the need for regular training, which will help save their own lives and those of people around them.

The event was organised by the Association of First Aid and Tactical Medicine Operators and Instructors in partnership with the Ukrainian First Aid Movement.
